1985 Fender Japan E Series Stratocaster - Pro-Feel/Shred - pro played/modded

This is a gorgeous 1985 Fender Japan STR-75 Pro-Feel Stratocaster made by Fujigen. E Series Strats out of the Fujigen factory are legendary for their quality and this is an incredible example.
The Pro-Feel Stratocasters were Fender's take on a hotrodded Strat in response to companies like Charvel and Jackson. A flatter 12" radius fingerboard, licensed Floyds, higher output pickups and slightly wider necks makes this thing a monster for shredding. The cut-away neck heel makes upper fret access significantly easier - how they knew this in 1985 but haven't exported it across all models is beyond me. This was Fender Japan's absolute top-of-the-line model in 1985 at nearly $750 USD.
This particular guitar is exceptionally rare - never exported outside Japan and in the rarest red/black burst finish.
I bought this in Tokyo four years ago at a used guitar store. Was just killing time one day and wandered into a tiny used guitar store and came across this thing. I've always loved Strats but this is just a totally unique take on the formula. Played it for an hour, fell in love, and brought it back to Taipei where I live.
The owner of the store told my Japanese friend that it used to belong to a famous local player and that he had made some modifications to it. Notable are a replacement of the stock single coil in the neck position with a (I believe) Duncan Hot Rails pickup and the installation of a coil split switch between the volume knobs and an adjustable tremolo block. All great, super functional mods.
Playing condition is perfect, setup is excellent, neck is flat as can be, and frets are great. This guitar has obviously seen a fair amount of use and shows it - a true relic through time and use. Personally absolutely love the burnishing the gold hardware and pickup pole pieces show.
Happy to answer any questions about this particular guitar. I'm back and forth between Taipei and San Francisco and will likely bring this with me/ship domestically if purchased in the USA.
